Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

When you feel you can be yourself, you have a voice, you have opportunities, and you feel empowered to be your best. We want this for all of our clients and colleagues, and we’re committed to creating the right environments for people to thrive.

All staff have a voice and influence in the organisation. We have various staff-led groups, including a Black staff network, an LGBTQIA+ group, and a Neurodiversity network.

To achieve our mission, it’s essential that our colleagues feel valued and empowered and are given the training and support they need to deliver the best results for our clients. This means creating a culture where employees are supported, trusted and listened to, and creativity and new ideas are encouraged. We always encourage our employees to shape services and have a say in how the wider organisation is run.

We know the power of diversity, inclusion and equal and equitable opportunity. We’re committed to recruiting, retaining and promoting a diverse pool of individuals who truly represent the clients and communities our teams support.

Our HR teams and hiring managers are trained in EDI and recruitment to ensure a safe and accessible recruitment process. We use a ‘blind’ approach to recruitment, applications are anonymised and hiring managers shortlist against the job specific questions containing no identifying information.

We are continuously striving to improve fairness and candidate experience in our recruitment processes. By doing so, we commit to creating an inclusive environment where all feel valued and have equal opportunities to succeed and thrive at Single Homeless Project.
