At Single Homeless Project, we’re driven by one belief: everyone deserves a place to call home and the opportunity to thrive and grow.
We also know that real change happens when people with different perspectives come together with a shared purpose. That belief shapes everything we do; in our services, in our communities, and in the way we work together.
A workplace where everyone belongs
We are proud to be an inclusive, welcoming and safe place to work where everyone can show up as themselves and be treated with respect. We are building a team as diverse as the city we live in, a mix of experiences, abilities, cultures, faiths, identities and perspectives that make us stronger together. London is one of the most diverse cities in the world, and the people we support reflect that. We work with individuals and communities across every borough, culture, and background. Our team mirrors that diversity. Many of our colleagues bring lived experience of homelessness, migration, trauma or systemic inequality.
We don’t just talk about inclusion, we live it. It shapes the way we design our services, make decisions, and be there for our people. We want everyone at Single Homeless Project to feel safe, valued and empowered to grow.
How we build inclusion
We’re taking action to ensure diversity and inclusion are not just aspirations but everyday practice. That means:
- Recruiting inclusively, with fair and transparent processes that focus on potential as well as experience.
- Listening and learning, through staff networks, lived experience leadership, and open conversations that help us see where we can do better.
- Providing training and support so that every manager, colleague and volunteer understands their role in building an equitable workplace.
- Championing wellbeing and belonging, making sure everyone feels supported to bring their full self to work.
We know we’re not perfect, but we’re committed to doing the work, to keep learning, and to keep pushing for a more just and inclusive workplace.
