Single Homeless Project joins Prince William’s documentary to end homelessness

We’re proud to share that Single Homeless Project will appear in an ITV documentary, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, about Prince William’s homelessness charity, Homewards. The documentary will air at 9 p.m. on ITV1 on Wednesday, October 30, and Thursday, October 31, with Single Homeless Project appearing in the second episode.

It is a fantastic opportunity to engage millions of viewers across the UK and help them better understand homelessness. It also highlights the impactful work of Single Homeless Project in driving change and ending homelessness in London.

In the documentary, viewers will meet our inspiring client, Lainey, and our ex-colleague, Sophie, who was Lainey’s Support Worker. Lainey and Sophie meet with Prince William and discuss homelessness and what is needed to end it.

Lainey lives in one of our five specialist women’s hostels. Her story offers a powerful perspective on the unique challenges that women experiencing homelessness face, from navigating barriers to accessing suitable housing. Her journey underscores the importance of specialised services for women, which offer safe spaces, tailored care, and a path toward independence.

We have worked closely with Mindhouse, the production company Louis Theroux founded on this project.

You can catch up on ITV Player if you missed the initial broadcast. You can also read this article from Stylist Magazine about the documentary in which our colleague, Lucy Campbell, shares her work on women’s homelessness.
