WhatsApp Group Information & Consent (Challenge Events)

This policy applies to WhatsApp group chats created by Single Homeless Project (SHP) for participants of the following 2026 challenge events:

• TCS London Marathon
• Hackney Half Marathon
• London Landmarks Half Marathon

By joining the relevant WhatsApp group, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Participation
   1.1 Joining the group is optional.
   1.2 You can leave the group at any time, for any reason, without notifying anyone.
2. Privacy & Confidentiality
   2.1 Other members will be able to see your WhatsApp display name and phone number.
   2.2 Please do not share anyone’s contact details or personal information outside the group.
   2.3 Treat all conversations and information discussed within the group as confidential.
   2.4 Do not save other people’s numbers you do not have a relationship with, nor reach out to them unsolicited forms of communication. If you do so, and SHP are made aware, it will result in automatic cancellation of your race place and all fundraising thus far being retained by the charity.
3. Group Conduct: The group chat aims to be a welcoming, safe, and supportive space for everyone in #TeamSHP. Please abide to the following:
   
   3.1 Be respectful to all members.
   3.2 No bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind. Be nice.
   3.3 No explicit, offensive, or sexual language.
   3.4 No promotion or advertising of products or services for profit.
   3.5 No unsolicited or inappropriate forms of communication with, or to, other members.
4. Group moderation
   4.1 SHP staff members (with full training and DBS checks) will be present in the group to create, facilitate and monitor conversations.
   4.2 SHP staff members will monitor the chat Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Messages sent outside these hours will be reviewed as soon as possible.
   4.3 SHP staff members may delete messages that are inappropriate and reserves the right to remove any participant from the group at its discretion. In some cases, SHP will give a warning first – but serious breaches to this policy may lead to immediate removal.
